1. Product Overview

The MMO Pre-Packaged Deep Well Anode System is a heavy-duty, factory-assembled Impressed Current Cathodic Protection (ICCP) solution engineered specifically for deep well groundbed applications.

The system features a high-purity Grade 1 Titanium tubular anode coated with a noble Mixed Metal Oxide (MMO) catalyst. Positioned centrally inside a durable galvanized steel canister, the anode is pre-packed under strict factory conditions with high-density, low-resistivity calcined petroleum coke breeze.

Designed to overcome high surface soil resistivity and space limitations, this pre-packaged assembly ensures low groundbed resistance, uniform current distribution, and trouble-free deep borehole installation.

2. Advantages

  • Long Service Life: Premium iridium/tantalum MMO coating provides exceptionally low coating consumption rates (<= 1.0 mg/A.year), delivering reliable cathodic protection for 20 to 30+ years.
  • Hermetically Sealed Cable Junction: The cable-to-anode connection node is potted with high-dielectric epoxy resin and protected by dual heat-shrink insulation to prevent moisture ingress and chemical attack.

  1. MMO Titanium Tubular Anode: High-purity Grade 1 Titanium substrate with a sintered Mixed Metal Oxide (IrO2 / Ta2O5) catalytic coating.
  2. Calcined Petroleum Coke Breeze: Premium dust-free conductive backfill with high fixed carbon content (>= 98%) and low electrical resistivity (<= 0.05 Ohm.cm).
  3. Galvanized Steel Canister: Heavy-gauge protective steel tube that guards the internal assembly during transportation and lowering; dissolves naturally into the soil during early operation.
  4. Internal Centralizers: High-strength non-metallic centralizer spiders that hold the MMO anode precisely along the central axis of the canister.
  5. High-Performance Cable Lead: Single-core, heavy-duty PVDF/HMWPE or XLPE/HMWPE insulated copper cable tailored for severe underground chemical and chlorine environments.

5. Primary Applications

6. Installation Guide Brief

  1. Borehole Preparation: Drill the deep well borehole to the specified depth and flush the well with clean water or drilling mud.
  2. Lowering Assembly: Attach the bottom assembly to a central suspension wire/cable and lower the canister carefully into the hole. Connect multiple canisters in series if required by the design.
  3. Cable Handling: Ensure the lead cables are secured along the lowering wire without applying tensile tension to the cable connection joint.
  4. Venting & Backfilling: Install the gravel/vent pipe alongside the canister column, then backfill the well with clean gravel or top backfill as per project engineering drawings.
